I can't even remember why I was on the Japanese wiki.
'Hittingu maachi? What the hell is that?'
Half an hour of google research later I'm sitting down to join a wiki and edit for about four hours.
THINGS TO NOTICE:
- So many of them have girly idol songs. No Morning Musume, but AKB48? Otsuka Ai? The Cutie Honey theme song?! Do you know what the lyrics are to that song?????? Jesus.
- So much anime. Given, it's mostly old anime themes that are probably as a part of their growning up as the Scooby Doo song was for us... but still. Imagine someone singing the Spongebob song at your baseball game.
- Shirakawa's song is LITERALLY 'RED'. UGHHHH. I will forgive this though, as I love X Japan and Kurenai is actually one of my favourite songs.
- If Raichi's song is the Ultra Seven song does that mean he watches tokusatsu? That would be so cute tbh.
- Shunshin's song is the opening for Oofuri. It's like he's in the wrong baseball anime or something.
ANYHOW.
A lot of the songs are really good, (not surprising since most of them are super famous popular songs in Japan.) I definitely recommend looking them up and listening.
I'll be adding their songs to their individual pages under trivia eventually. Ideally I'll also do pages with the lyrics and translations to the songs, as well as which parts are actually chanted. It would be worth researching which songs appear in the anime, and which appear in the manga, and which parts they use, but that will take a lot of work and likely will never happen.
As a last note... where did this information come from? I got it all from the Japanese Daiya wikipedia page... but it doesn't seem to say where it got the information from... I assume it's from a data book or interviews with the author, but I have no idea which. If I figure it out, I'll add it to the sources.
