Under the Feet is the 47th episode of Diamond no Ace Act II anime series. The episode follows the storyline from chapter 146 up to chapter 149 of the Act II manga.
Summary[]
Seidou watches the record of Inashiro's match in the evening. Ichidaisan, Seiko and Yakushi also won their opening matches handily. At night the players try to get their premature adrenaline in check. The next day the match Yura vs Seidou starts. Right at the beginning Sawamura makes a fielding error and is affected by it which enables Yura to score. Seidou gets out of the 1st inning with two lost runs.
Synopsis[]
Seidou watches the record of Inashiro's match in the evening. Ichidaisan, Seiko and Yakushi also won their opening matches handily. After the meeting the upperclassmen are concernd about Sawamura, who'll be their starting pitcher in the next game, and try to give him well-intentioned advice like taking a relaxing bath or trinking hot milk before bed. Back in his dorm room Sawamura seems to be dissatisfied about it, thinking he must seem pretty unreliable to them.
As Sawamura later lays in bed, he recalls his conversation with Miyuki about how the captain didn't expect to see Sawamura wearing the ace number in summer. Miyuki adds that back in Senbatsu Sawamura couldn't control his fastball but now is able to replicate pitch after pitch while improving the stability of the numbers, all thanks to practice. He admits that he gets totally excited just from imagine what it would be like to throw the pitching Sawamura has been showing lately at the likes of Ichidaisan, Yakushi and Inajitsu. Sawamura is elated as he recalls that conversation.
Sawamura's phone screen reveals another interesting conversation. Chris informs Sawamura that he'll probably be able to watch him play in the quaterfinals at the end of July and that he is looking forward to watch Sawamura then wearing the ace number. As Sawamura thinks about the quarterfinals, he starts to feel unsettled.
Kuramochi later wakes up due to premature adrenaline running high and thinks about last years tournament. All he could think about was winning and he never gave the "what would come next" a thought. A flashback of the regretful tears of his senpais is seen. Kuramochi seizes the oppurunity to check on Sawamura to make sure he's sleeping properly and says he'll be counting on him tomorrow.
The next day the match Yura vs Seidou starts.
Right at the start Yura's 1st batter pulls a safety bunt, but Sawamura gets the ball (before Kanemaru) and throws to 1st; but its' a wild throw and the runner gets on base. Seemingly affected by this fielding error Sawamura gives up a walk next. The third batter makes a slug bunt, despite being jammed which enables Yura to score the first run.
Seidou gets out of the 1st inning with two lost runs.
