The ads strip on volume 40 revealed the episode count for the Daiya no A anime: there will be 13 DVDs, containing 4 episodes each - in total 52!
So it will likely end at volume 22 (with Seidou vs Inashiro).

Yes it has been extended. I heard there will be 75 episodes in all. :) If that's the case, I'd love another season. The manga is way far ahead. :)
If it was just 75 episodes, wouldn't that last until the game between the retired members vs the current members? Coz after that would be the start of the fall tournament. Then we'll also see Eijun's yips...
Possible.... 1. If The studio allows so given the popularity and high ratings 2. Terajima sensei allows so, oh please someone request for the second season. 3. Possible but may not be soon. The fall tournament was just finished so I guess it is possible.
Daiya no ace is one of the top ten selling manga in Japan, 6th or 8th I forgot, so I think Daiya Is pretty popular. For it to last up to 75 episodes means it sells well to the audience. For it to have another season is up to the producers, and I think the fall tournament is possible to be animated since the mangaka has ended it last year. The next release of the manga this jan. 14 will be for sure the Koshien stage or something already.
It'll probably take another 60 episodes 'til the fall tournament considering the pacing of the anime. But doesn't matter, I really hope for a second season when the 75 episodes end.
^Well, I'm happy it will not take 60 episodes til the fall tournament. It has begun. But it'll probably take a while 'til the Final round. :)
I've actually done some calculations based on the amount of chapters used for each episode. If I'm right, the second season (and the Fall Tournament) will end around episode 58-60 or so.
Then we'll just have to wait for the manga to pick up again. XD
